Susan Sarandon Bio

It was just after the 1968 Democratic convention and there was a casting call for a film with several roles for young people who had disrupted convention. Joe (1970), was sought out by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970), two recently graduated Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon, an actor who had been trained for the role, was ostracized. His wife Susan was offered a significant role. That character was Susan Compton who is the daughter of ad executive Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill, Susan's drug dealer boyfriend, is killed in the movie. Joe (Peter Boyle) is a bigot working at an assembly line, then meets Joe (Sarandon). Janet is involved with Dr. Frank n Furter, plays Janet in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). More than 15 years after making her debut, Sarandon has finally been actively campaigning to be cast in a memorable role, Annie in Bull Durham (1988), flying at her own expense Rome from Rome to Los Angeles. She said "It was an amazing script... it eliminated a myriad of stereotypes and challenged the American definition of what success is". "When I arrived at the studio I had a chat with Kevin Costner, kissed some in the studio, and then was back on the plane". Her love affair with Bull Durham (1988)) supporting actor, Tim Robbins, had given birth to two sons in 1992 and placed Sarandon in the awkward position of having to leave her idyllic home to take on roles that truly challenged her. It was the result four Academy Award nominations in 1990s, and best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995). Her first Academy Award nomination was for Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980).
